Kitchen Tandem Box Installation Guide

1

Prepare the Cabinet

Ensure the cabinet opening is square and the sides are parallel. The standard height for base cabinets is 720mm. Check that the cabinet is level both front-to-back and side-to-side.

Cabinet Preparation
Important: The cabinet must be perfectly square for proper tandem box operation. Maximum tolerance is ±1mm over the height of the cabinet.
2

Mark the Mounting Positions

Using the provided template, mark the positions for the tandem runners on both sides of the cabinet. The standard height from the cabinet floor to the bottom of the runner is 50mm.

3

Install the Runners

Secure the runners to the cabinet sides using the provided screws. Ensure all screws are tightened securely but avoid overtightening which may strip the screw holes.

Installing Runners
4

Attach the Drawer Box

Slide the drawer box onto the runners until it clicks into place. Test the smooth operation of the drawer and adjust if necessary using the built-in adjustment screws.

Installation FAQs

What should I do if my drawer isn't closing smoothly?

First, check that the cabinet is perfectly square and the runners are installed at exactly the same height on both sides. If the drawer still doesn't close smoothly, use the adjustment screws on the runners to fine-tune the alignment. Small adjustments of 1-2mm can make a big difference in operation.

Can I install Mexis hardware on existing cabinets?

Yes, Mexis hardware can be retrofitted to most existing cabinets. You may need to make some modifications to the cabinet interior to accommodate the new hardware. Our universal mounting system allows for flexible installation in most standard cabinet configurations. Measure your existing cabinet carefully before purchasing to ensure compatibility.

What's the maximum weight capacity for tandem drawer systems?

Our standard tandem drawer systems are rated for 25kg per pair of runners. For heavy-duty applications, we offer reinforced systems rated for up to 50kg. Always distribute weight evenly in the drawer and avoid exceeding the rated capacity to ensure smooth operation and longevity of the hardware.

How do I maintain my hardware for long-lasting performance?

For optimal performance, clean runners and moving parts with a dry cloth periodically. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant (not oil-based) to the runners every 12-18 months. Avoid getting cleaning products on the hardware as some chemicals can degrade the finish or affect the soft-close mechanism.

What's the warranty on Mexis hardware products?

All Mexis hardware comes with a 5-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects when installed according to our instructions. The warranty covers replacement of defective parts but does not cover damage from improper installation, misuse, or normal wear and tear. Register your product on our website to activate your warranty coverage.
